About AW Development Group

People Have Always Been at the Center.

AW Development Group grew from a simple belief: people need spaces where they can be honest, feel supported, be challenged, and continue growing into who they're called to become.

The Work Started Before the Company Did.

Long before there was AW Development Group, much of the work behind it was already happening.

Through leadership, ministry, mentoring, coaching, and everyday relationships, Andre often found himself having conversations with people navigating decisions, relationships, leadership, faith, purpose, or simply a difficult season of life.

Over time, something became clear: people don't always need someone to fix what's happening. Sometimes they need a trusted person who will listen, ask honest questions, offer perspective, and walk alongside them as they figure out what's next.

AW Development Group was created to bring greater intention and structure to that work: supporting individuals while partnering with organizations and teams that genuinely want to care for and develop their people.

Founder

Meet Andre Wood

Andre Wood is the founder of AW Development Group and a licensed chaplain through the International Federation of Chaplains (IFOC).

Faith, family, leadership, growth, and service are central to the way Andre approaches both life and work. His professional journey has taken him through security, sales, corporate leadership, ministry, mentoring, and chaplaincy. While those experiences may look different on the surface, they've consistently centered around people, relationships, trust, and leadership.

Earlier in his career, Andre worked in security, where his experience included working directly with professional athletes. That gave him firsthand exposure to an environment where performance and public perception can sometimes overshadow the person underneath it all. Today, that experience connects naturally with his passion for bringing chaplaincy into athletic environments and supporting the person beyond the performance.

Andre later built his career in sales and corporate leadership, developing teams, building relationships, and helping people grow both personally and professionally. He also holds a bachelor's degree in finance.

Outside of his professional career, Andre has spent years serving in church leadership, leading groups, mentoring men, coaching individuals, and walking alongside people through both growth and difficult seasons of life.

While the settings have changed, Andre sees the same thing at the center of all of them: people.

His approach is straightforward: listen first, build trust, ask honest questions, and help people take meaningful steps forward. He doesn't believe growth comes from having all the answers. Often, it begins by creating the kind of relationship where honest conversations can happen.

Andre's Christian faith is foundational to how he lives and leads. It shapes his understanding of character, integrity, responsibility, grace, service, and purpose while also teaching him the importance of meeting people where they are.

As a licensed chaplain, Andre brings formal chaplaincy training together with years of leadership, ministry, mentoring, and relationship-centered experience. Through AW Development Group, he provides chaplaincy and development services for workplaces while also building toward his passion for serving athletic teams and organizations.

Andre and his wife, Dana, are raising five children in Arizona. Of all the roles he carries, being a husband and father remains among the most important, and one of the places where he continues to learn the most about leadership, growth, and becoming the man he wants to be.

Chaplaincy

Why Chaplaincy?

Chaplaincy brings together many of the things Andre cares deeply about: people, presence, trust, faith, and meaningful conversation.

Whether it's an employee navigating a difficult season or an athlete carrying pressures beyond the game, the environment may be different, but the need is often the same: having someone you can trust who is

there for the person, not just the role they perform.

That's the heart behind AW Development Group's approach to chaplaincy.

How We Show Up

Operating Principles

The environment may change, but the way we approach people doesn't.

Listen First

Every person and every situation is different. We take time to understand before trying to offer answers.

Build Trust

Real conversations require trust. We create space where people can speak honestly without feeling judged or managed.

Be Willing to Challenge

Caring about someone doesn't always mean telling them what they want to hear. Growth sometimes requires honest questions and difficult conversations.

Meet People Where They Are

We don't start with where we think someone should be. We start with where they actually are and move forward from there.

Faith

Faith Is the Foundation. People Are the Focus.

Andre's Christian faith isn't separate from the way he leads and serves. It shapes it.

It influences the way AW Development Group thinks about character, integrity, forgiveness, responsibility, service, purpose, and the value of every person.

At the same time, genuine care begins with respect. We don't assume everyone shares the same beliefs, and they don't have to.

When someone wants to explore faith, prayer, Scripture, or spiritual questions, that door is always open. When they don't, they're still met with the same dignity, care, and respect.

A Personal Note

Still Growing Too.

AW Development Group isn't built around the idea that Andre has everything figured out.

He's a husband, father, leader, mentor, and man of faith who is still learning, being challenged, making adjustments, and intentionally working on his own growth.

That's part of the philosophy behind AW Development Group:

None of us should ever stop becoming.
